ALYSSA'S 2ND BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Today was such a great day!! It's so hard to believe that Alyssa is already 2 years old! Time flies!!!! We had a Barney party at our our house for family. Lots of great food, presents, and family. Everybody had a wonderful time!! Alyssa really loved all of her gifts! She has played with them all evening. And she still has some money to spend on some more gifts for herself :) After the party at the house everyone went to the pool for more fun! It was REALLY hot here today, so it was a good day for the pool.

Skyler's 1st Field Day

I was able to take off work to go spend the entire day with Skyler at her first Field Day - it was a blast!!! She had so much fun!!! It was great to watch her and her friends do all the activities. They had races, relays, tug-of-war, etc. She definitely has some Compton blood in her!! She was BY FAR the fastest in her class in the running races!!! And she is such a competitor!!! Some kids just play to have fun. Skyler was there to win!!! I can't imagine where she got that from!!! And there is not a shy bone in her body!!!! She doesn't get embarresed doing anything!! I even got to play tug-of-war agaisnt the other Moms. Luckily I was on the winning team. Skyler was SUPER excited about that!!!!!! I can't wait to go next year!!!

Mother's Day 2010!

Today was a great day!! Not only was it Mother's day, but it was also Skyler's 6th birthday. This is the first time we have shared this day since the day she was born. I have to admit that I'll probablyy never get a Mother's Day gift that could top that one! However, I did receive some wonderful gift, hugs, and kisses today! Today we spent the day at Mom's house. It was beautiful outside; just a bit cooler than we wanted it to be. However, that did not stop the kids from swimming!!!

Happy Birthday to you, Skyler!

Skyler loves her new Justice Jewelery!!

Alyssa's Beautiful Smile!

We almost had a candle and hair issue, but luckily Nicole saved the! No fire extinguisher was needed!!

Will looking his best!!!!

We spent yesterday with Matt's family to celebrate Mother's Day. It was great. The kids had a great time playing outside. Alyssa loves to play with Sean. She is starting to get curious about Emma! She talks to her, but can't understand why she doesn't say anything back :)

It was great to have Nicole and Will with us this weekend to celebrate Skyler's birthday. The kids spent most the weekend on the trampoline. They love it!!! Skyler received a lot of great presents from the family today. She is super excited to go shopping at Justice ASAP!!! :) She is such a sweet girl. Before bed tonight she actually came down to tell Matt and I what a wonderful day she had, and how much she really liked all of her presents :)

My Little Ladies!!!SSkylers Spring School Picture

Skyler's 6th Birthday Party!!!

Today was Skyler's birthday party! It went GREAT!!! We had her party at "The Bounce House". It's such a great place for a party! We rented out the entire room for a private party. The kids had a blast!!! They jumped, ran, chased, and jumped some more!! Needless to say, the kids were worn out!! The Bounce House had so much for all the kids to do. There were two GIANT slides, a basketball bounce room with two small slides, a surfing bounce house, and a regular bounce house. I'm hoping this is Skyler's last BIG party, and we can minimize to a sleep over with a couple of girls next year:) She got so many great presents!!!! She received a lot of original gifts such as: a fancy kids pedicure at a nail salon, Shrinky Dink charm bracelets, lots of arts and crafts, Justice clothes, and much more. Alyssa did NOT want to jump on anything today!!! She walked around and laughed at everyone, but wasn't about to join in!!! However, when it was time for food.....she was all in!!!!!!!! We got a 1/2 sheet cookie cake - ALL GONE!!!!! I guess it was pretty good, but I didn't even get a taste.

Skyler and Alyssa got an early birthday present from Matt and I. They got a trampoline!!! The girls love it! Alyssa was a little timid at first, but she loves it now. I think I'm much more excited than both of them!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I just don't remember getting so sweaty and winded when I was young:) We have Skyler's real birthday on Mothers Day. This is the first time since she was born that it has been on Mothers Day. Then two weeks later - Alyssa's Birthday. May is a very busy month for us!

Spring Break comes to an end :(

It is truly amazing how quickly our weeks off go by!!!! We did not do a vacation this year, due to the fact of all the projects outside that we wanted to accomplish. And projects we did!!!!!!!!!!! We are tired, sore, and very happy with the outcomes!! We have definitely had spring breaks that were more fun, but it's a great feeling to accomplish tasks that make our house look better!! One of our projects was pressure washing and staining the deck. We had thought this would be a two day process at most. Well.....we all know how it goes........it turned into four days!!!! It was also much more work than we had anticipated! We chose to do a redwood stain. This led to having to do every square inch in depth including all the spindles, rails, and stairs. Our deck is not small, and when you are doing this it seems much larger:) I does look wonderful!!!!!! But I NEVER want to do this again!!!!!!!!

Our second project was landscaping an area next to our downstairs patio. This has always been a soggy mess! We couldn't get grass to grow and the rain always leaves it an eye sore! Matt did an amazing job with this!!! He personally took two truck loads of rock and stepping stone to make it beautiful. Most of you have not been to our house so it's hard to realize the task this was. We live on a steep hill side. Therefore, Matt had to shovel all the rocks into a wheel barrel and bring it up and down the hill a TON of times!!!! I had no input on this project......it was all Matt's vision. It turned out beautiful!!!!

Our next task was decorating and putting a border on the downstairs patio. We planted a border grass and mulch to enclose it, and did some wonderful flowers to brighten it up. It is turning out to be a very comfortable outside retreat!

We also did a lot of other small projects, but I don't want to elaborate on all the small tasks :) The girls were great with all the work going on. They love to pitch in and help, especially with the planting!!!!

Overall...lots of work, but a great week off with the family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

We had a wonderful Easter today!! The Easter Bunny was great to the kids, and they loved the Easter egg hunt! You have to look at Skyler's hair in the morning pictures - hehehehe. It was so big, but so cute!! You've gotta love curly hair in the morning :) We followed it up by going to my Mom's house for fishing, swimming, and yummy dinner! Yes, you heard me right - swimming! It was HOT outside today. The water wasn't really that cold!! Pepe (our 6 month old puppy) went to the lake for the first time. He LOVED it!! He was the first one in the water. He loves swimming and running around! Alyssa and Skyler thought it was hilarious! We are off for Spring Break this week - YEA!!! However, we have a list a mile long of things that we need to get done. Lot's of yearly yard work and landscaping. The weather is supposed to be super nice all week; which will help with all the outside work.

She caught a BIG one!!!
