Spring Break comes to an end :(

It is truly amazing how quickly our weeks off go by!!!! We did not do a vacation this year, due to the fact of all the projects outside that we wanted to accomplish. And projects we did!!!!!!!!!!! We are tired, sore, and very happy with the outcomes!! We have definitely had spring breaks that were more fun, but it's a great feeling to accomplish tasks that make our house look better!! One of our projects was pressure washing and staining the deck. We had thought this would be a two day process at most. Well.....we all know how it goes........it turned into four days!!!! It was also much more work than we had anticipated! We chose to do a redwood stain. This led to having to do every square inch in depth including all the spindles, rails, and stairs. Our deck is not small, and when you are doing this it seems much larger:) I does look wonderful!!!!!! But I NEVER want to do this again!!!!!!!!

Our second project was landscaping an area next to our downstairs patio. This has always been a soggy mess! We couldn't get grass to grow and the rain always leaves it an eye sore! Matt did an amazing job with this!!! He personally took two truck loads of rock and stepping stone to make it beautiful. Most of you have not been to our house so it's hard to realize the task this was. We live on a steep hill side. Therefore, Matt had to shovel all the rocks into a wheel barrel and bring it up and down the hill a TON of times!!!! I had no input on this project......it was all Matt's vision. It turned out beautiful!!!!

Our next task was decorating and putting a border on the downstairs patio. We planted a border grass and mulch to enclose it, and did some wonderful flowers to brighten it up. It is turning out to be a very comfortable outside retreat!

We also did a lot of other small projects, but I don't want to elaborate on all the small tasks :) The girls were great with all the work going on. They love to pitch in and help, especially with the planting!!!!

Overall...lots of work, but a great week off with the family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
