We've been BUSY!

It has been a long time since my last post. Life has been very busy. Skyler starting second grade, Alyssa starting pre-k3, Matt and I starting our Specialist Degree, girls cheer, girls gymnastics, I'm coaching Skyler's cheer team, and Matt has been teaching night school. Needless to say....we don't have much spare time:)

Life has been very good. The girls are doing wonderful at school and in sports. Alyssa has learned to write her name, and a couple other words. She loves going to school everyday. She is doing Ballet and Tap at her school. She seems to really be loving it! Skyler is also doing fantastic in her school work. She is excelling as always and enjoying her teacher and friends very much! She just made a part in the 2nd grade play as a hip-hop dancer! That is right up her alley:)

Below are a lot of pictures that we haven't had time to share. Hope you enjoy:)

Football season begins!!!

We had our first football game to cheer at today. I must say the the girls looked fabulous! It has been a challenge coaching 12 6/7 year olds!!! But I think that for the first game they did extremely well. They did a really good job on their half-time routine.

Alyssa wore a uniform, but only stayed on the field for a little bit. She didn't want to cheer today. However, when we got home we couldn't get her to stop!! I think as the season goes on she will get more comfortable and join in!!

Here is our video of the half-time dance!!!!!!!!

Cheer/Football kick-off 2011

Today we kicked-off our 2011 Cheerleading/Football season! We had Jamboree today; which consist of a long day of scrimmages. We cheered for four scrimmages. It was SUPER HOT, but both the cheerleaders and football players did awesome! I am coaching the cheerleaders again this year. Last year we had six cheerleaders, this year we have twelve. BIG DIFFERENCE!!! It is much more work on me, but the girls are loving it. I have two fantastic trainers to help me out (they are cheerleaders/students of mine). I'm very excited about football; little league, college, and pros!!!! All I ask is that the weather get cooler!!!

Alyssa's 1st day of Pre-

Alyssa did WONDERFUL with her first day of "big girl school"!!! She walked in and went straight to the kitchen play area with the other girls. We didn't even get a hug:( The teachers say that she is doing fabulous. She has a new friend, Allison. She was very excited that they got to nap next to each other on the second day!

Skyler is very ready to go back to her school! She gets to meet her new teacher on Thursday!

End of Summer :(

It is that time of year.......the end of Summer! I hate this time of year!! Matt and I love being with the girls during the summer and doing all of our fun activities. We spent the summer on the boat, with family, at White Water, in Florida, and at the pool! This makes our work sound very boring!! However, it's life:)

Alyssa is starting "big girl school" tomorrow. (Pre-K 3) She is a little hesitant. However, I don't think she fully understands! She will be fine, but I'm struggling watching her go! I was the same with Skyler, but this is the last "baby" and it's super hard to watch her grow up so fast. She is very friendly, and loves to meet new kids. Hopefully she will love it.

It's absolutely mind blowing that Skyler will be starting second grade in a week. She is growing up WAY TO FAST!! She is VERY excited for school to start. We have school supplies, a new backpack, a new lunch box, and new school clothes. She can't wait for us to drop her off!

The next few months are going to be very busy in the Harrelson household. We have Skyler's cheer starting next week. I'm head coach this year and we practice twice a week and games on Saturday. Alyssa and Skyler are also doing gymnastics once a week. Matt will being night school, which takes all of his time. I will do my best to post, but it may take a month or so:)

Until next time...

4th of July

I know this isn't in chronological order, but I didn't have the 4th of July pictures with me in Florida to do this post first.

This year we had a FABULOUS 4th of July! As always we took the boat to Momma Joe's House for the weekend. We always have a great day on the lake, followed by fireworks, a sleep-over at Joe's house, and another great day at the lake.

This year Mom invited the entire Harrelson clan to join in. We had a full house and it was awesome. We had Grandmom, Grandad, Papa, Michelle, Michael, Sean, and Emma. I think the kids really enjoyed playing at the lake and riding on the boat. Of course we had too much food, but everything was so yummy! We did get a little rain, but it wasn't a problem. Momma Joe made it great regardless of the late afternoon shower!

Hopefully this can become an annual event!

St. George Vacation - 1st post

We are spending a week in St. George Island at Grandmom and Grandad's beach house. This year is great because the entire Harrelson clan is here. Skyler and Alyssa are super excited to have their cousins here.

We have gone to the beach, the pool, and even a new excursion - Wakulla Springs. It was incredible. We took a boat ride and saw a bunch of amazing things; such as alligators, a manatee, tons of fish, and many different types of birds, etc. We followed the boat ride by a day swimming in the fresh spring water. I must say it was very chilly water. They say it stays between 67-70 degrees, but it felt MUCH colder!!! They had platforms that you can jump off into the water, which keep in mind are the same waters that have all the animals in it. They had a low jump that was 8 feet that Skyler and Matt did first. Then we all ventured up to the 30 foot platform. Matt, Rusty, Skyler, Michael, and Michelle all were brave enough to take the plunge. Actually, Matt ended up diving off, and Skyler went about 6 times. It was so much fun!

We still have 4 more days with many more pictures to come!

Papa's Visit - take 3 - Our last day at the lake

This time we went to the lake by our house. The weather was wonderful! We basically had the lake to ourselves since it was a week day. We found a new very secluded beach that the kids LOVED!! The water was like glass so Matt and I loved it for wakeboarding. Skyler did a great job skiing. Alyssa had a blast swimming. Dad had a great day relaxing, watching everyone, and even skiing himself!! It had been a long time since he skied last, but didn't have much of a problem. We also saw some awesome wildlife! We have an eagles nest on a platform in the middle of the lake. There was one baby, a mom, and a dad there. Mom and Dad bird were not happy at all that we were getting close to get pictures. It was very cool!

Papa's Visit - Take 2 - Ruby Falls and Rock City

We visited Rock City and Ruby Falls this week. It was awesome! We timed the day and weather just right. We did Rock City first, which is outside early in the morning before the heat set in. Then Ruby Falls in a cold cave during the heat of the day. We all had a great day!! The girls enjoyed Rock City so much. They have already asked when they can go back. Ruby Falls was amazing (more for the adults). Skyler did okay, but Alyssa was a little scared and tired. She actually fell asleep on Matt on the hike out. Overall, a great day!
