Party at American Girl

Today we celebrated both girls birthdays at American Girl. It was an amazing time! Skyler actually saved some of her own money and combined it with Mama's, Papa's, and Momma Joe's money to buy a new American Girl doll - Kanani (a new Hawaiian Doll). Skyler's new doll actually looks a lot like her!! Both girls were able to pick out presents from Michelle and Emma, and Grandmom at the store. The loved looking at all the options and leaving with great gifts!

We all had lunch (appetizer, entree, beverage, and dessert) at the American Girl Bistro. The food was very good - much better than I anticipated. I would go back again for the food - as would Grandmom :). The dolls actually had their own chairs, saucers, and tea cups at the table. The girls LOVED that! Lunch was followed by a beautiful cake, ice cream, presents and great goody bags. It was such a great day!

Skyler's Birthday Sleepover

Skyler talked me into having a sleepover for her 7th birthday. I had in mind 2 or 3 girls; somehow we ended up with seven. :) It actually went very smooth. It was Justin Bieber themed - Matt's favorite, LOL!! We spent the night playing outside, dancing to Wii Just Dance 2 and watching a movie. Skyler had a blast!

Easter 2011!

We started our Easter holiday by dying eggs on Saturday. Sommer (my best friend from high school) was here to celebrate with us. The girls made beautiful tye-dyed sparkly eggs:)

The Easter bunny was very good to the kids this year! :) They had such a great day. We woke up to all the goodies and hidden eggs that the Easter Bunny left. They had so much fun finding them all.

We followed our morning by going to Grandmom and Grandads house for a great dinner, good conversations, a special treat - Papa was there, and one more Easter egg hunt. The kids definitely can't get enough of the egg hunts :)

Last day of vacation:(

Today was wonderful! We tried to do everything one last time. We went to the beach, the pool, out to eat, and to an island place for live music and a jump house for the kids. This vacation has been such a memorable trip for our family! Our kids have had such a great time.

Tonight we went to dinner at Captain Snook's. Skyler actually got her own order of oyster's. She almost ate them all. After dinner we returned to the island to go to Harry A's. They had live music (random gypsies - pretty crazy) and a jump house. What a great day to end the perfect vacation.

Day 3 Spring Break 2011:)

Today was wonderful! The weather started very foggy, but ended up being sunny and spectacular. We went to the beach this morning. It was overcast but warmer than yesterday. We saw a ton of dolphins again!! The girls really enjoyed playing in the water, building sand castles and finding " sea animals". They are actually called ..... Coquina Shells. They are small shells with a clam-like animal inside. The girls love catching them and watching them.

After a full day at the beach and pool, we relaxed at home for awhile. We cooked dinner and played games for awhile. Then it was back out to the pool for and evening swim:)

Spring Break 2011 - day 2

Today was GREAT!! We all loved the beach this morning. The temperature was wonderful. We weren't hot at all, and the breeze from the beach was amazing. The dolphins really put on a show for us. I would estimate that we saw 50 dolphins. We also got to see a baby dolphin - so sweet:)

Tonight was fantastic. We went to our favorite island gathering. A great store (Sometimes It's Hotter) hosts a food tasting every Thursday. We enjoyed live music, great dips, veggies, pizza, and jambalaya.

Spring Break 2011 - day 2

Spring Break 2011 - day 1

My blog posts are WAY over due. We have been very busy lately! But thankfully we are on vacation with the family for some sun, fun, and relaxation. We started the day early this morning (6:30) and headed to St. George Island.

As soon as we got here the girls were ready to go! The second we got the bags up stairs they had their swim suits on (or "diving" suits if you ask Alyssa). They were off to the pool within 30 minutes of us arriving. The weather is GREAT. Not a cloud in the sky!

After swimming for a couple of hours it was off to dinner at our favorite island restaurant, The Blue Parrot. We love the atmosphere there; it's right on the beach. Matt, Skyler and I all enjoyed the oysters! Skyler ate about half of Matt's tray of oysters. I was really impressed!! Last year she ate one and said she liked it. Today she was LOVING them!
